The owners of a 2005 Ford F250 contacted the Harris County Sheriff’s Department to report that their pickup was stolen after they received a LoJack Early Warning (EW) notification from their LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System. The Ford was parked on the street in front of their residence when they received the EW notice from LoJack.  The Harris County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford pickup.

A short while later officers from the Houston Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the officers tracked the Ford to the 4700 block of Denmark Street where it was parked and abandoned. The driver’s door lock and ignition had been punched. The Ford was recovered and returned to the owner. This is the third time the pickup has been successfully recovered with the LoJack® System.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F250 in August 2007 at Texas Direct Sales.
