The owner of a 2015 Ford F150 contacted the Austin Police Department to report that her pickup was stolen. The owner parked her pickup in her driveway and when she returned to it found it missing.

The Austin PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford pickup.

Later, officers from the Austin PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the officers tracked the stolen Ford pickup to the corner of Asa Dr and Dixie Dr, where they found it abandoned.  This Ford was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F150 in May 2016 at Leif Johnson Ford in Austin, Texas.
