The owner of a 2013 Ford Taurus contacted the Greensboro Police Department to report that a family friend had taken off with the vehicle for three days and not returned.  The Greensboro PD confirmed the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford Taurus.

A short while later, inspectors from the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles License and Theft Bureau, Greensboro Division, picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the inspector tracked the Ford to a residential area. The inspector found that the Ford was occupied by an individual that was not the family friend that had originally taken the vehicle.  The Ford was recovered and turned back over to the owner.  A decision was made not to make any charges on the individual that was found to be occupying the Ford.  The case was turned over to the Greensboro PD for further investigation.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2013 Ford Taurus in September 2016 at Enterprise in Greensboro, North Carolina.
