The owners of a 2002 Cadillac Deville contacted the Madison Township Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen overnight from their residence.

The Madison Township PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Cadillac.

A short while later a vehicle equipped with a LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) travelling on Interstate 280 through Toledo, Ohio, picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes while on the Toledo Skyway Bridge.  The Ohio State Highway Patrol Toledo Vehicle Theft Unit (VTU) was notified and responded to the area.  Working together and following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the stolen Cadillac was tracked to a residential area of Toledo.

Surveillance was established on the stolen Cadillac and suspects were observed entering it.  Before the Cadillac could drive off, a felony stop was made by the VTU and Toledo Police Department.  The suspects were arrested and the stolen Cadillac was impounded.

Because of the quick recovery the suspects did not have enough time to strip the Cadillac or use it to commit additional crimes.  The stolen Cadillac was later returned to the owner.  This matter is to be further investigated by the Ohio State Highway Patrol Toledo VTU.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Cadillac Deville in March 2004 at Cadillac Hummer Village in Norwood, Massachusetts.
