LoJack System Helps Miami-Dade Police Department Recover a Stolen 2011 Cadillac CTS-V

The owner of a 2011 Cadillac CTS-V parked their car in their apartment complex parking lot. The next morning they discovered the Cadillac missing. They contacted the Doral Police Department to report their Cadillac stolen. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime information computers, which automatically activates the LoJack® System concealed in the Cadillac.

Later that afternoon, while on routine patrol, a Miami-Dade Police Department officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the CTS-V on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in law enforcement patrol vehicles, helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. The officer began tracking the stolen Cadillac by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC’s screen. The officer, along with their backup, located the 4-door sedan abandoned in a residential area near SW 153^rd Terrace and SW 89^th Avenue. The Cadillac was recovered, towed to the police impound yard for safekeeping and removed from state and federal crime information computer systems by the entering agency.

The LoJack^® System was installed in the 2011 Cadillac CTS-V in October 2015 at Brickell Luxury Motors in Miami, Florida.
