The owners of a 2004 Volkswagen R32 contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.  The owners had left out of town for a few days and when they returned they found that their residence had been burglarized and that much of their property along with both of their cars was missing.  They then notified police.

A police officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Volkswagen.

5 minutes later officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Volkswagen with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the officers tracked the Volkswagen to the parking lot of a casino in the 2400 block of North Rancho Dr.  The Volkswagen was unoccupied and unharmed.  The Volkswagen was recovered and returned back to the owners.  Their other vehicle did not have the LoJack® System in it and has yet to be recovered.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Volkswagen R32 in March 2004 at Pugi of Chicagoland in Downers Grove, Illinois.
