The owners of a 2006 Saab 9-7 contacted the Cambridge Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.

The Cambridge PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Saab.

A short while later officers from the Boston Police Department as well as troopers from the Massachusetts State Police picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Saab with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the officers and troopers tracked the Saab to a downtown Boston location where the State Police found and recovered the stolen Saab.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Saab 9-7 in July 2008 at Herb Chambers Boston Saab in Massachusetts.
