The owners of a 2011 Lexus RX350 contacted the Metro Nashville Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their residence.

The Metro Nashville PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

A short while later a Tennessee Highway Patrol Aviation Unit picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the Aviation Unit tracked the Lexus to a commercial district of Nashville.

As it was still in the jurisdiction of the Metro Nashville Police Department, the pilot requested assistance from that agency. Several officers responded and were able to locate the Lexus at a commercial establishment. At the time of the recovery, the Lexus was unoccupied.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lexus RX350 in July 2011 at Nalley Lexus in Roswell, Georgia.
