The owner of a 2007 BMW 328i contacted the Grand Prairie Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. The owner was at a party, was arrested by the police and taken to jail.  When he got out of jail and returned to where he had parked his BMW, he found it missing.

The Grand Prairie PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the BMW.

Later, officers from the Arlington Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen BMW with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the officers tracked the stolen BMW to an apartment complex in the 200 block of Treepoint Dr, where they found it abandoned in the parking lot.  The BMW was recovered in good condition.  This is an ongoing investigation.

The LoJack® System was installed in the BMW 328i in April 2007 at Classic BMW in Plano, Texas.
