The owners of a 2017 Toyota Corolla contacted the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to report their vehicle was stolen.  LASD Carson verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Only 51 minutes later officers from Torrance PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to a shopping center in the city of Torrance.  The Toyota was abandoned and undamaged.  The new Toyota was recovered and later returned to its owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Corolla in February 2017 at Toyota of Whittier, Whittier CA.
