The owner of a 2013 Toyota Corolla called the Hillside Township Police Department to report that sometime during the night someone stole her vehicle from her driveway in Hillside.

The Hillside Township PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota Corolla.

A short while later, officers from the Newark Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the officers tracked the Toyota to Hobson Street in the City of Newark where the vehicle was recovered abandoned.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2013 Toyota Corolla in May 2013 at Toyotaland in Springfield, New Jersey.
