The owner of the Honda Accord parked it where he normally parks it near his house in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn and when he came out for it that evening he found it missing. He immediately called the New York Police Department of the 69 precinct and when the police responded they took a written report. The NYPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Accord.

A short while later the silent LoJack signal was picked up by officers of the NYPD 69 precinct, this was in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn. The signal was tracked through various streets in Canarsie Brooklyn. Eventually the Honda was found parked unoccupied in a mall parking lot. The officers decided to stakeout the Honda and after a while when no one showed up for the vehicle, the officers took it into custody. The Honda was recovered with no damage.

The owner was contacted and he was elated that his Honda was recovered so quickly especially without any damage. He stated that he was happy that his Honda was equipped with the LoJack® System when he purchased it.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2008 Honda Accord in June 2008 at Bayridge Honda in Brooklyn, New York.
