The owners of a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.  The owner was at a casino in the 3700 block of Las Vegas Boulevard and was having an argument with a former boyfriend while she was waiting for the valet attendant to bring her the Chevrolet.   As the Valet attendant arrived with the Chevrolet the former boyfriend jumped into the Chevrolet and left the casino parking lot.

A police officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet Tahoe.

A short while later officers from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Tahoe to a residential address in the 1400 block of Pacific Ave where it was located unoccupied.  The Chevrolet was then recovered and returned back to the owner.  The recovery address is a short distance from where the owners’ former boyfriend currently resides.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Tahoe in April 2005 at Cormier Chevrolet in Long Beach, California.
