The owner of a 2012 Toyota Camry called the North Bergen Police Department to report that while he was in a convenience store he left his vehicle running in the parking lot and someone stolen his vehicle.

The North Bergen PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota Camry.

A short while later, officers from the East Rutherford Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the officers tracked the Toyota to the parking lot of a motel on Route 17 in the adjoining town of Rutherford. The Toyota was recovered abandoned.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2012 Toyota Camry in May 2012 at Hudson Toyota in Jersey City, New Jersey.
