The owner of a 2005 Infiniti G35contacted the Richmond City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from 4600 Southwood Parkway in Richmond after it was left unattended with the keys in the ignition.  The Richmond City PD Radio dispatched an officer to investigate the incident. The officer quickly arrived on location, interviewed the complainant and surveyed the area for the Infiniti. When the officer was unable to locate the Infiniti a stolen vehicle report was prepared. The officer then arranged for the stolen vehicle information to be entered into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Infiniti G35.

A short while later, auto theft detectives from the Richmond City PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Infiniti G35with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the detectives tracked the Infiniti to the 3100 block Hull Street in Richmond. At that location, detectives observed the Infiniti parked and unoccupied. The Infiniti was then recovered by police.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2005 Infiniti G35 in April 2007 at Infiniti of Chantilly in Virginia.
