LoJack® System Helps New Orleans Police Department Recover Stolen Dodge Durango

The owners of a 2016 Dodge Durango contacted the New Orleans Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen after they received a LoJack Early Warning notification from their LoJack® Stolen Vehicle Recovery System. Upon hanging up the phone they looked outside and discovered in fact the Dodge was stolen from in front their New Orleans East home. The owner told the reporting officer that they had the both key sets with the LoJack key fob in the residence but had left the car unlocked with the spare key in the console.
The New Orleans PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge Durango.
10 minutes later officers from the New Orleans PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Dodge to Marigny neighborhood and located the Durango parked and secured on the street in great shape. The officers had the Dodge processed by the crime lab for possible evidence. The owners were contacted, arrived on the scene and reunited with their Dodge Durango. The owners were very happy they had LoJack on their Dodge.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Dodge Durango in April 2016 at Premier Chrysler Jeep Dodge in New Orleans, Louisiana.
