The owner of a 2006 Infiniti reported to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department that his vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of a local night club.  The Charlotte-Mecklenburg PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Infiniti.

After the Infiniti was entered as stolen into the computer, officers with the CMPD, the North Carolina DMV and the University of North Carolina Charlotte Public Safety picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Infiniti with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC’s) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Infiniti to a storage building located in an apartment complex.  Consent was given to open the storage unit to locate the Infiniti and verify the condition of the vehicle.  The Infiniti was recovered and the North Carolina tag had been replaced with a dealer tag.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Infiniti in June 2005 at Pinnacle Nissan in Scottsdale, Arizona.
