LoJack® System Helps Baltimore City Police Department Recover Stolen Honda Accord

The owner of a 2005 Honda Accord contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the area of 3200 Leeds Street in Baltimore City.  The Baltimore City PD Radio dispatched an officer from District 8 to investigate the incident. The officer quickly arrived on location, interviewed the complainant and surveyed the area for the Honda. When the officer was unable to locate the Honda a stolen vehicle report was prepared. The officer then arranged for the stolen vehicle information to be entered into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Accord.

A short while later, officers from the Baltimore City PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda Accord with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and helicopters. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to the area of 4800 Sideleigh Road in Baltimore City. At this location, officers observed the Honda parked, unoccupied and abandoned. The undamaged Honda was then recovered by police and the owner notified.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2005 Honda Accord in September 2005 at Brown’s Honda City in Glen Burnie, Maryland.
