The owner of a 2015 Audi Q5 parked their SUV in front of their home inside of a gated community. Their daughter observed the Audi in the early hours of the morning. When the daughter awoke later in the morning, she discovered their SUV missing. They contacted the West Palm Beach Police Department to report their vehicle stolen advising them that she had left the car keys inside the Audi. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime information computers.

Later that morning, while on routine patrol, a Riviera Beach Police Department officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Audi Q5 on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC). The officer began tracking the stolen Audi by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC’s screen. The officer, along with their backup from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, who was also tracking the stolen Audi on their PTC, located the sport utility vehicle abandoned 4400 block of North Congress Avenue. The SUV was recovered, released to the owner, who responded to the scene, and removed from state and federal crime information computer systems.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2015 Audi Q5 in June 2015 at Braman Audi in West Palm Beach, Florida.
