The owner of a 2006 Ford F-250 parked their truck in the driveway of their home next to another car. The next morning they discovered that the other car had been burglarized and that their truck, a key to the truck and the owner’s driver’s license missing. They contacted the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to report their Ford stolen. The responding deputy prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime information computers.

Shortly after activation while on routine patrol, a Riviera Beach Police Department officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen F-250 pickup truck on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC). The officer began tracking the stolen Ford by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC’s screen. The officer, along with their backup, located the pickup truck abandoned in the 1900 block of West 16th Court, Riviera Beach. The truck was recovered, towed to the police impound yard for safekeeping, and removed from state and federal crime information computer systems.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2006 Ford F-250 in January 2009 at AutoNation Ford in Delray Beach, Florida.
