The owner of a 2006 Ford F-350 walked outside of their home and discovered their truck missing. They contacted the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office to report their Ford stolen. The responding deputy prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime information computers.

Immediately upon activation, while on routine patrol, an Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputy picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen F-350 pickup truck on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC). The deputy began tracking the stolen pickup by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC’s screen. The deputy, along with their backup, located the F-350 pickup truck in the parking lot of an industrial area in the 2700 block of North Forsyth Road, Winter Park. The Orange County Auto Theft Unit responded and set up surveillance on the stolen pickup truck. After several hours surveillance was terminated with negative results. The truck was recovered, towed to the police impound yard for safekeeping, and removed from state and federal crime information computer systems.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2006 Ford F-350 in July 2005 at Courtesy Ford in Sanford, Florida.
