LoJack® System Helps Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Recover Stolen (Dodge R150) Suspect Arrested

The owners of a (2002 Dodge R150) contacted the Rialto Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge R150.

A short while later deputies from Los Angeles Sheriff’s Industry Station picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge R150 with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies broadcasted the information and tracked the vehicle giving direction to other units. Industry units rolled into the area and spotted the vehicle containing a male suspect and followed it as the driver entered a restaurant parking lot at Gale Ave and Olympus.  Units deployed on the vehicle taking the suspect into custody without further incident. The suspect was arrested and later booked for driving a motor vehicle without owner’s permission, a Felony”.

The LoJack® System was installed in the (Dodge R150) in February 2010 at Hoblit Dodge, Chrysler Jeep, Woodland, CA.
