The owner of a 2016 Honda Civic contacted the San Pablo Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from in front of their residence in the 5200 block of Riverside Avenue.

The San Pablo Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Civic.

A short time later, officers from the Pinole Police Department were directed to the stolen vehicle by the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda Civic with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) which are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Honda Civic to the parking lot of a business in the 600 block of San Pablo Avenue, where they found the vehicle parked with a subject in the driver’s seat.  The subject was taken into custody for the theft of the Honda Civic and booked at the Contra Costa County jail.

The vehicle was recovered and released to the owner at the scene.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Civic in April 2016, at Honda of El Cerrito, in El Cerrito, CA.
