The operator of a 2015 Takeuchi TL-8 skid steer loader arrived at their construction site and discovered their piece of construction equipment missing. They contacted the Florida Highway Patrol to report their machine stolen. The responding trooper prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the machine’s information entered into the state and federal crime information computers.

Later in the day, a Miami-Dade Police Department sergeant started their patrol car in their driveway and picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Takeuchi TL-8 skid steer loader on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC). The sergeant began tracking the stolen machine by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC’s screen. The sergeant advised dispatch of their tracking. The Miami-Dade PD aviation responded to the area. Between the aviation unit and the sergeant, they located the skid steer loader on top of a trailer attached to a Ford pickup truck. The construction equipment was recovered. The trailer and pickup were towed to the police impound yard as evidence. The skid steer loader was towed to the police impound yard for safekeeping and removed from state and federal crime information computer systems.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2015 Takeuchi TL-8 skid steer loader in November 2015 in Georgia.
