The owners of an FJ Cruiser contacted the Aurora PD to report that their vehicle had been stolen from their home in Arvada.

A police officer verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers.  This routine action on the part of law enforcement automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Less than two hours later officers with the Lakewood PD picked up the silent LoJack homing signals coming from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTCs, these officers tracked the vehicle to the area of 15th Place and Quail Street where they located the vehicle and arrested one suspect.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota FJ Cruiser in July 2006 in New Jersey at the request of a previous owner of the SUV.
