The owner of a Nissan 240 contacted the Riverside Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Riverside.

Riverside Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

At a later time, officers from Riverside Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 3800 block of Buchanan Street in the city of Riverside. A high risk traffic stop was made; one suspect was arrested for vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, violation of probation for vehicle theft and possession of controlled substance.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan 240 on April 1995 with CA. direct Customer, Los Angeles, California.
