LoJack® System Helps National City Police Department Recover Stolen Chrysler PT Cruiser

The owner of a Chrysler PT Cruisercontacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of San Diego.

San Diego Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chrysler.

At a later time, officers from National City Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chrysler with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 400 block of Marine View Ave. in the city of National City.  A traffic stop was made; a suspect was arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property. 

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chrysler PT Cruiser on August of 2004 at Long Beach Chrysler Jeep Inc. Long Beach, California.
