The owners of a (2013 Honda Civic) contacted the LAPD Newton Division to report that their vehicle was stolen apparently by known suspects. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Civic.

Minutes later LAPD Air 18 flight officers picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda civic with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the air ship tracked the vehicle to Martin Luther King Blvd and Figueroa St and contacted ground units from the LAPD Southwest Division to respond.  Air 18 directed the officers to Figueroa St and 52nd St where the ground unit caught up to the vehicle.  The officers followed the vehicle requesting back up when the driver pulled over and stopped.  Two subjects were detained and eventually the driver was arrested and booked for the theft. The undamaged Honda Civic was later released to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the (Honda Civic) in March 2013 at Honda Down Town Motors, LA, CA.
