The owner of a Honda Civic contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. The owner parked his Honda in his apartment parking lot and when he returned to it he found it missing.  The owner could not find his car keys and may have dropped them when he was walking in the parking lot.

The Dallas PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Later, officers from the Mesquite Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Honda and observed it traveling in the 2800 block of Lockhart.  Officers were able to stop the stolen Honda and arrest the driver. The Honda was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Civic in March 1997 at Robertson Honda in North Hollywood, California.
