The owners of a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 contacted the Casa Grande Police Department to report that their pickup had been stolen sometime overnight.

The Casa Grande PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge.

A short while later the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge was picked up with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Dodge was tracked to a residence near Interstate 10 and Casa Blanca Road, on the Gila River Indian reservation.

The Gila River Tribal Police and the Arizona Highway Patrol were contacted and responded to the area.  Both police agencies working together went to the residence and made contact with the occupants.  The occupants were known to the Gila River Tribal Police officers and suspected of several other auto thefts.  The male and female suspects were arrested by the Gila River Tribal Police and booked into the tribal jail for the possession of the stolen Dodge.  The Casa Grande PD detectives were notified and provided the suspect information for possible additional charges off the reservation.  The Dodge was recovered in good condition and later returned to the owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Dodge Ram in September 2002 at Cropper Auto Center in Casa Grande, Arizona.
