The owners of a 2006 Hummer H2 contacted the Cobb County Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from a parking deck while he was at work.

The owner had parked the Hummer in a parking space and when he returned back from dinner it was gone.

The Cobb County PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Hummer.

A short while later officers with the Cobb County PD SWAT picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Hummer with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Hummer to a shopping area where the officer spotted it with two people inside.

The suspects were questioned by the police about the Hummer and the driver advised that a friend had loaned it to them for a few days. The owner did not know that a LoJack® System had been installed when he bought it from the dealership.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Hummer H2 in September 2006 at Vera Cadillac in Pembroke Pines, Florida.
