The owner of a 2015 BMW 228i contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of San Diego.

The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the BMW.

At a later time officers from the Chula Vista Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen BMW with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the BMW to a commercial complex located in the 200 block of Beech Street in the city of Chula Vista.

The LoJack® System was installed in the BMW 228i in March 2015 at United BMW Roswell in Duluth, Georgia.
