The owner of a 2013 BMW 335 contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of San Diego.
The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the BMW.
At a later time, officers from the Oceanside Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen BMW with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the BMW to a residence at the 2800 block of Ocean Village Way in the city of Oceanside. The BMW was found inside the garage. One person was taken into custody, arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.
The LoJack® System was installed in the BMW 335 in December 2014 via Direct Sales in Westwood, Massachusetts.
