The owner of a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro 2-door coupe contacted the Miami Police Department to report their vehicle stolen. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime information computers.

Shortly thereafter, while on routine patrol, a Miami-Dade PD officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Camaro on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC). The officer began tracking the stolen Camaro by following the directional and audible cues on the PTC screen. The officer, along with their backup, located the 2-door coupe inside of a gated facility. The Camaro was recovered, and removed from state and federal crime information computer systems.

It should be noted that this Camaro was stolen 3 times previous to this one. The first time was in March 2012 in Cutler Ridge. The next time was in June 2012 in Cutler Ridge. The third time was in January 2013 from Hialeah. Each time the Camaro was recovered successfully using the LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro in July 2011 at Maroone Chevrolet of Miami in Florida.
