The owner of a 2000 Honda CRV contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen.  The owner had parked his Honda in the parking lot of his apartment complex and left it locked for the night.  When he returned the next morning he found that the Honda was missing.

A police officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

7 minutes later officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to the area of Boulder Highway and US 95.  The Honda was unoccupied and undamaged.  The Honda was then released back to the happy owner who was unaware that he had LoJack in his vehicle.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda CRV in May 2000 at Auto Nation Honda in Costa Mesa, California.
