The owner of this Honda Civic contacted the Fresno Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from their residence. The Fresno PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Just 10 minutes after the LoJack was activated, investigators from the Fresno HEAT, the Fresno County Auto Theft Task Force, picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the investigators tracked the Honda to a strip mall near First and Barstow in northeast Fresno. The investigators located the unoccupied Honda and initiated surveillance. About two hours later, two male adults entered the Honda and tried to drive away in the vehicle. The Honda was ultimately stopped and the suspects were taken into custody without incident. The suspects were arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The Honda was recovered intact and undamaged; it was released to the owner at the scene of the recovery.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Civic in September 2009 at Honda North in Clovis, California.
