The owners of a 2001 Ford F-250 contacted the Henderson Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The owners had gone into a grocery store in the 100 block of North Stephanie and had left their Ford parked and locked. Video surveillance showed that two males walked from a nearby restaurant, got into the Ford and drove it away.
A police officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford F-250.
12 minutes later officers from the Henderson PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.
Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to the intersection of Candelaria and Eastern. The Ford was located unoccupied, recovered and given back to the owners.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F-250 in May 2004 via Commercial Customer in Phoenix, Arizona.
