The owner of a 2009 Buick Enclave contacted the Montgomery County Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the area of 10000 Parthenon Court in the Bethesda area of Montgomery County, Maryland.  The Montgomery County PD Radio dispatched an officer to investigate the incident. The officer quickly arrived on location, interviewed the complainant and surveyed the area for the Buick. When the officer was unable to locate the Buick a stolen vehicle report was prepared. The officer then arranged for the stolen vehicle information to be entered into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Buick Enclave.

A short while later, detectives from the Montgomery County PD auto theft unit picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Buick Enclave with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the detectives tracked the Buick to the intersection of Edmondston Avenue and Gail Road in Rockville, Maryland.  At this location, officers observed the Buick parked and unoccupied. Detectives conducted covert surveillance on the Buick and after a period of time the undamaged vehicle was recovered and the owner notified.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2009 Buick Enclave in September 2008 at Capitol Cadillac in Greenbelt, Maryland.
