The owner of a 2000 Honda CR-V called the Albuquerque Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen. The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.
In just 3 minutes after the activation, officers with the Albuquerque Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers determined the Honda was mobile and driving through several area commands. Flight Officers with Air5 joined in on the search and located the Honda parked in a cul-de-sac in the area of Harper and Ventura. Officers in marked units arrived into the area and determined the Honda was unoccupied.
The Honda was recovered and processed for evidence at the scene. The owner was called to the scene to take possession of their Honda. This is the second time this year that the Honda has been stolen, tracked and recovered by law enforcement using LoJack.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda CR-V in March 2004 at Curry Honda Subaru Isuzu in Chicopee, Massachusetts.
