The owner of a 2016 Audi A6 contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen from his parking space at his apartment complex in the city of San Diego.
The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Audi.
Within 18 minutes, officers from the San Diego PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Audi with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Audi to a commercial parking lot in the 8500 block of Tech Way in the city of San Diego. The Audi was returned to the registered owner undamaged.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Audi A6 in October 2015 at San Diego Audi in California.
