The owner of a 2007 Toyota Camry contacted the Palm Springs Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Palm Springs.

The Palm Springs PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

A short time later, officers from the Blythe Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota to the area of 2nd Street and Rice Avenue in the city of Blythe.  A traffic stop was made and two occupants were taken into custody, arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Camry in October 2006 at Import Warehouse of the Desert in Cathedral City, California.
