The owner of a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the 1800 block Bloomingdale Street in Baltimore City, Maryland.  The Baltimore City PD Radio dispatched an officer from District 8 to investigate the incident. The officer quickly arrived on location, interviewed the complainant and surveyed the area for the Chevrolet.  Investigation on scene by the officer found that the Chevrolet was stolen when the operator left the vehicle unattended with the keys in the ignition while refueling. When the officer was unable to locate the Chevrolet a stolen vehicle report was prepared. The officer then arranged for the stolen vehicle information to be entered into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

A short while later, officers from the Baltimore City PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and helicopters. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the officers tracked the Chevrolet to the area of 2800 Grantley Avenue in Baltimore City, Maryland. At this location, officers observed the Chevrolet being operated by the theft suspect. Police performed a felony vehicle stop and arrested the operator. The undamaged Chevrolet was recovered and the owner notified.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer in November 2001 at Fox Chevrolet in Baltimore, Maryland.
