This Mercedes Benz was stolen sometime during a two-day period from the street near the owner’s residence at 23rd and Madison Street in Seattle. When the theft was discovered, it was reported to the Seattle Police Department who verified the report and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes.

Less than two hours later, a Washington State Patrol trooper equipped with a LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes. Following directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Mercedes was located ten minutes later at 117th and Greenwood in Seattle. The driver was placed under arrest. The passenger fled on foot but was later apprehended.

The Mercedes did not appear to be damaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mercedes S55 in May 2002 at Autohaus Mercedes Benz in Pompano Beach, Florida.
