The owner of a 2007 Mazda 3 contacted the Paterson Police Department to report that her vehicle had been stolen. The owner told police that while she was in a convenience store she left her Mazda running and someone stole it.

The Paterson PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mazda.

A short while later, officers from the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Mazda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Mazda to East 28th Street in the City of Paterson where they found the vehicle parked. The Mazda was recovered undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2007 Mazda 3 in April 2007 at Maxon Hyundai Mazda in New Jersey.
