The owners of a 2016 Toyota Corolla contacted the St Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office to report that their vehicle was stolen from in front their residence in Chalmette overnight.
The owner related to the deputies that they parked and secured their Toyota in front of their residence the evening before. That morning as they exited the house it was discovered to have been stolen overnight.

The St Bernard Parish SO verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Twenty minutes later officers from the New Orleans Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota as it was being driven around the Mid-City area of New Orleans. The officers tracked the Toyota to just off of Broad St where they found the Toyota parked and abandoned.

The officers contacted the owners and advised them their Toyota had been recovered. The happy owners arrived at the recovery location and were reunited with their Toyota.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2016 Toyota Corolla in October 2015 at Toyota of New Orleans in Louisiana.
