The owners of a 2004 Honda Accord contacted the Gilbert Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from a friend’s residence where it had been parked.

The Gilbert PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

A short while later, an auto theft detective from the Gilbert PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the detective tracked the Honda to a strip mall parking lot near Warner Road and Gilbert Road.

The stolen Honda was located unoccupied in the parking lot approximately one mile from the theft location. The Honda was locked and recovered in good condition. The owner was contacted and responded to the scene. The Honda was released to the owner approximately one hour after the vehicle was entered as stolen.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in August 2004 at Arrowhead Honda in Peoria, Arizona.
