The owners of an Infiniti FX3 contacted the Aurora Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from their home during a burglary. Car keys found in the home allowed burglar(s) to steal the Infiniti that was in the garage. A police officer verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine action automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Infiniti.

A short while later officers with the Aurora PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Infiniti with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTCs, the officers tracked the Infiniti to a large parking lot near a high school on South Sable Boulevard. The Infiniti was undamaged but the keys were not recovered.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Infiniti FX3 in January 2009 at Crest Auto Group in Plano, Texas.
