The owners of a 2013 Ford Escape contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their apartment complex assigned parking space on 1900 Runnels sometime during the previous night.

The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford Escape.

A short while later officers from the Houston PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford Escape with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to the 3400 block of Reveille where the vehicle was parked in a parking space. The doors were locked and the Ford did not appear to have any damage. The Ford was processed for evidence and stored until the owner could be notified.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Escape in September 2013 at Sterling McCall Ford in Houston, Texas.
