The owners of a 2014 Melroe Skid Steer front loader contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their machine was stolen from their construction site on South Wayside sometime during the previous night.

The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Melroe.

A short while later officers from the Houston PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Melroe with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the machine to a wooded area near Old Galveston Road and TriStar. The loader had been driven into the wooded area hidden from view. The officers notified the owner and released the loader into his custody. No suspects in this case.
