The owner of a 2008 Toyota Camry contacted the Las Vegas Metro Police Department to report their vehicle as stolen. The Las Vegas Metro PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Approximately an hour after the activation, officers with the Las Vegas Metro PD air support unit picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the air support officers tracked the Toyota and provided directions to the ground units who located it unoccupied. A plain cloths unit established surveillance on the stolen Toyota in the event the offenders would return. During the surveillance, offenders were observed entering the stolen Toyota and they were subsequently apprehended. The stolen Toyota was recovered and will be released to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Camry in December 2007 at Centennial Toyota in Las Vegas, Nevada.
